First October is a four-piece band with members stemming from Boston and Minnesota. Today, the talented ensemble delivers originals, along with a handful of classic covers of alternative favorites to all of South Florida. Spectators regularly witness the mayhem and the carnage left in the wake of one of their live performances. Fronted by the attractive vixen, Tammy, the First October singer possesses some unlikely and unique selections for a female voice. Executing renditions of 1970s, 80s and 90s material, and their nightly set-lists are always diverse. A new CD of originals is currently in the works, and locals can take advantage of seeing First October up close and personal. On Friday, January 26th, they will be performing at Coconut Grove’s Flavour in the Grove. The following evening, they will be at Hollywood’s Octopus Garden. They’ll return back down to the Grove on February 2nd for a midnight gig at Mr. Moe’s. February 10th will entail a show at Mr. G’s in West Palm Beach, and they’ll be back at Octopus Garden on the 17th. First October gets to light up Fort Lauderdale’s Beach Place on February 24th, before performing at the City of Miami’s Rockin’ 4th of July celebration on Independence Day. FIRST OCTOBER provides three to five hours of solid entertainment, moving from family fare fun to pop rock to heavy metal assault, also depending on the individual needs of the venue, FIRST OCTOBER can provide a state of the art DJ with tastes ranging from rock to holiday to top 40 playability, a portable light system, which is dance floor complete with sound activated rotation bulbs and independent fog effects.
FIRST OCTOBER is high energy, crowd interactive and venue friendly. We tune our volume to the particular tastes of the management, and are well versed with contests, giveaways and live radio promotions.
FIRST OCTOBER is available to play charity events, private parties and outdoor venues. We have, in the past, donated our fee to a charity’s worthy cause. Our sound system we travel with is adaptable to any location or situation.
FIRST OCTOBER is readily available for advance bookings, as well as the occasional cancellation coverage, schedule permitting. Our fees begin at $400, and are negotiable based on the requirements of the venue and the accessories that are utilized (IE: extra cost for transportation of additional lighting equipment, outdoor venue sound system, etc.)
