Tom is one of the founding members of “First October”, and now one of the two remaining links to the occasion reflected in the band’s name, which is when the original members all got together. Now, it simply refers to when “Tom met Tammy”, and the rest is still being written.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Tom grew up being influenced by at a very young age by The Beatles, and then later, Aerosmith, The Cars and of course the monster British Invasion bands like Zeppelin, Sabbath and The Rolling Stones.

Tom Plays mainly with his fingers, and tends to favor a heavy chugging, crunchy sound. He has also been known to pop a few bass strings on occasion because of his driving style and all out assault on his instrument of choice at the time.

Apart from being First October’s bottom end and sometimes singer, Tom still plays goaltender in adult ice hockey leagues, and although at one time he was one of the more in demand local youth hockey coaches, First October has taken up the majority of any spare time, and that is something that makes him very happy.

“First October is a passion, a dream coming true in which I have met people who have literally changed my life, and made me a better person. The feedback we get when we play is better than any high I could imagine, and seems to keep on getting better with each note played. It’s a great ride. I appreciate every person who I’ve come across on this journey, and all have helped me in one way or another to find that inner soul that keeps the flame burning and the desire, the drive…the hunger ever unsatisfied. We have miles to go before we sleep.”

An avid Red Sox/Patriots/NHL fan, Tom has a Daughter, Joanne, and currently lives in Hollywood, where he commutes to his regular job in Miami which involves guns, cars, saving the world and most often a tremendous amount of paperwork.

Tom uses a Spector Eu-4, Jackson Futura Ex, and a Epiphone Thunderbird as his primary bass guitars, fitted with Spector, Ernie Ball or Dean Markley steel strings. He carries the Hartke three pack of strings for on stage emergencies. The Basses are channeled through a Line 6 Bass pod into a SWR 4004 amp head with a 2x15 over a 1x15 speaker set up. He works off a Shure cardioid enclosed microphone.
